A 5-day hands-on international summer school in corpus linguistics, jointly organized by Khazar University and LexData. The program covers corpus tools, corpus analysis, corpus building, corpus-based research, advanced corpus analysis, and research writing for publication.

About this workshop

Khazar University and LexData are pleased to announce the International Summer School in Corpus Linguistics, a 5-day hands-on training program designed for international students, master’s students, PhD candidates, and scholars in language, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, translation studies, education, and related fields.The summer school focuses on practical corpus tools, corpus analysis, corpus building, and corpus-based research. Participants will learn how to understand core principles of corpus linguistics, use major corpus analysis tools, design and build specialized corpora, apply corpus methods to linguistic and interdisciplinary research, and interpret quantitative results critically. Certificate: Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Khazar Corpus Research Center. What You Will Learn: - Core principles of corpus linguistics - Major corpus analysis tools - Corpus compilation and basic analysis - Design and construction of specialized corpora - Corpus-based research methods - Advanced corpus analysis - Application of corpus methods to linguistic and interdisciplinary research - Critical interpretation of quantitative corpus results - Research writing and publication strategies 5-Day Program: Day 1: Foundations of Corpus Linguistics Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts, principles, and research applications of corpus linguistics. Day 2: Corpus Compilation and Basic Analysis Participants will learn how to collect, organize, clean, and prepare corpus data for linguistic analysis. Day 3: Corpus-Based Research This session focuses on designing corpus-based research projects and applying corpus methods to real research questions. Day 4: Advanced Corpus Analysis Participants will explore more advanced corpus analysis techniques and learn how to interpret corpus-based findings. Day 5: Research Writing and Publication The final day focuses on writing a corpus-based research article, publishing in high-quality Scopus and Web of Science journals, publication ethics, avoiding predatory journals, participant presentations, and feedback.
